James Taylor is another one of those guys who are so quiet and under the radar that no one really knows too much about him. The only way to find out more about him is to ask the guys who he surfs with. This is what we got.
 
"I think he is 32, lives in Melkbos and doesn't ride anything shorter than a 7.6-foot board. He is a very strong guy and very solid on his feet with quite a wide stance. He is slightly more dominant at sunset than at dungeons but I think this is mostly to do with the fact that he has surfed there less. He is a mullet who will take off on anything and pull into anything.
One of only a few guys that would actually take off on a legit 20 footer.
He is such a great, solid and humble guy. Has travelled the world extensively and an awesome waterman." Mike Schlebach.
 
"Regarding James it is simple. In my opinion he is without a doubt the no. 1 waterman riding big waves on a regular basis in Cape Town at present. He is always trying to catch the biggest waves, his positioning is excellent and he can seemingly handle anything the ocean can throw at him.
